Why did the turtle cross the road? We don’t know, but Yonkers police were there to help

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service say it's common to see turtles crossing the road, as many females are looking for an ideal place to lay their eggs.

A turtle in Yonkers found himself i quite a predicament on a Yonkers street, but luckily police officers were there to help.            
The turtle was safely removed and dropped off at a nearby stream.            
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service say it's common to see turtles crossing the road, as many females are looking for an ideal place to lay their eggs.
