Greenwood Lake officials have alerted residents near the lake to prepare for heavy smoke today and tomorrow due to controlled burns by first responders combating the wildfire.
News 12's Ben Nandy reports that residents who voluntarily evacuated earlier may need to leave again, but officials reassure that no homes are in danger and that firefighting operations are progressing well.
"Lots of smoke, but please do not panic. It's purposeful, and crews are on site," Mayor Thomas Howley said.
