Essex County’s 50th annual Bloomfest celebration was canceled Sunday because of severe weather.
Event organizers called off Bloomfest, which serves as the annual kickoff for the 50th anniversary of the Essex County Cherry Blossom Festival, because of wind conditions.
The event was scheduled to be held at Branch Brook Park, home to the nation's largest collection of cherry blossom trees, according to its website.
Organizers have not determined whether Bloomfest will be rescheduled.
