The NFL has changed its policy when it comes to punishing players accused of domestic abuse.

First offenders will get a six-game suspension, and a second offense means a lifetime ban that can only be appealed after one year out of the league.

These changes come after Commissioner Roger Goodell says he got it wrong when handling the two-game suspension of running back Ray Rice, who allegedly knocked out his then-fiancee.
