Soccer fans from all over the Hudson Valley flocked to the Picture House in Pelham to watch the U.S. team take on England at the World Cup on the big screen.
Tickets to the 100-year-old theater’s showing of the game were only $5.
Clayton Bushong, Picture House’s programming director, thinks the event is a great way to bring the community together.
"It's just great to use the big screen to do something that everybody can come and gather in. Not everybody can see an R movie, and not everybody wants to see a G movie, but everyone wants to see America take on England,” he said.
This year is also special for fans in the Hudson Valley because several players on Team USA were raised in the tri-state area. This includes Captain Tyler Adams from Wappingers Falls and Bedford's Gio Reyna.
The Picture House in Pelham and Bronxville will show Team USA third match on Tuesday vs. Iran as well.
