A lot of people enjoy camping this time of year, but not so much for a group of Hudson Valley neighbors who say a local campground has become a nuisance and a "corporate bully."

More than a half a dozen residents in Gardiner reached out to News 12 with similar concerns about Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park on Bevier Road. 

They shared videos of loud, late-night music and singing - that they say can be heard from across the Wallkill River during peak season.  

“I want people to know that the campground is not a good neighbor,” said Andy Collen. “The noise has become pervasive. It’s not just on weekends during the summer, it’s on weeknights.”  

Collen and his neighbor, Mark Stutz, have lived on Bevier Road for more than two decades. 

They say the campground on their street has grown, in size and popularity, in recent years. They are concerned with its ongoing expansion.  

“Bevier Road on the weekends basically becomes a super highway,” said Stutz.  

Neighbors say the residential road is the only way in or out of the campground and that it wasn’t meant for a steady stream of hundreds of RVs and thousands of guests. 

“They have way more campsites than they’re supposed to, and they have these giant, what are not temporary, cabins coming almost every week,” said Collen. 

News 12 reached out to the town and campground for comment, but no one called back.
