A Yonkers Housing Authority property now has some vibrant color - on the inside of the building.

The gymnasium at Calcagno Homes on Brook Street now has a mural- called "The Come Up" - by Yonkers native and artist Robin Alcantara. 

The mural centers around the city's musical legend and "Queen of Jazz," Ella Fitzgerald, and her rise to fame.

It's part of a $200,000, two-year partnership with Yonkers Arts, which was funded by the Mulford Corporation to bring art into housing authority properties.
