Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano joined representatives from Yonkers on Monday to break ground on the city's new soccer and lacrosse field at North Broadway on Odell Avenue.

The field is the first of its kind in northwest Yonkers and the third regulation-sized soccer field in Yonkers.

It is a 70,000-square-foot multiuse artificial turf field that will feature lighting, parking and bleachers that overlook the Hudson River.

Construction is expected to be completed in spring 2024.
