Yonkers is fining dog owners who don't clean up after their pets.
City officials say it's a big quality of life problem, especially in the downtown area. The issue has persisted despite signs plastered across the city.
Pet owners can face a fine of up to $1,500 for not picking up their pets’ waste.
But it's not only pet owners who can face fines, property owners are also held responsible for the poop left behind.
Last month, code enforcement gave out 34 tickets to property owners for fines of $100.
