Yorktown police are searching for three suspects who forcibly and illegally entered a home on Briarhill Street in Mohegan Lake on Thursday around 7 p.m.

"I really just had no words to be honest," says the homeowner.

The homeowner asked News 12 to not use his name due to safety concerns.

The homeowner say he arrived a few minutes later to find someone in his house.

"I heard a loud smash in the back room, so I walked around my house to the back. I saw the same guy who was in the front and then two other dudes. My back sliding door window was smashed open and then the guys started running around the house," the homeowner says.

He then chased them down the street.

"I was screaming, I was being really loud," he said. "The adrenaline helped but as soon as they got in the car, I just thought the windows were tinted and I didn't want to take any further risk, so I stopped there."

The homeowner says nothing was stolen.

Police are still looking for the suspects - two of which weren't seen on Ring camera video. Yorktown police also released a photo of one of the suspects on Facebook.

Police say all three were wearing masks.

Police have identified a suspect vehicle that has been described as a dark colored Nissan Pathfinder with a Mississippi tag. They have been working throughout the overnight hours with the NYPD, FBI, county and state law enforcement partners, attempting to locate the vehicle and suspects.

Neighbors say it's all unsettling.

"My daughter lives here and has a couple of kids and of course I get nervous when you hear something like this going on," says Steve Reville, a Jefferson Village resident.

"If they break in on an elderly person like I said, they can give them a heart attack or they could do something that would hurt them," says Marjorie Thompson, a Mohegan Lake resident.

Yorktown police say if anyone has any information that can assist them, to call them at 914-962-4141 and ask to speak with a member of our Detective Bureau or contact them via email info@yorktownpd.org.

Yorktown police also are issuing a reminder to parents with high school students who are participating in the "assassination" game.

"Please consider asking your children to cease with the game at this point. Take a look at the photo. This perp can easily be confused with a young adult participating in the game," said Yorktown police in a statement.
