Yorktown Supervisor Ed Lachterman has ordered the town to suspend adding fluoride to the public water supply.
Lachterman cited a U.S. district judge ruling that the current standard presents an unreasonable risk of injury to health or the environment.
He says Yorktown will continue to monitor guidance from federal and state agencies to protect public health.
Somers residents will also not receive fluoridation due to the suspension.
