The father of a 2-month-old was fatally stabbed just steps away from his home early Sunday morning after a verbal dispute.

Police say Larry Talley, 23, got into the argument with someone while walking back from a store around 2 a.m. According to witnesses, a group formed around Talley before the stabbing. The suspects allegedly fled in a livery cab, leaving behind the bloody knife used in the crime.

"Being a dad was the most important thing to him," said Talley's aunt Joan Brooks. "To die like this, it's not right."

No arrests have been made in the case.
