One person is dead and two others
are hospitalized after a fiery crash in Mamaroneck.
Police say two officers were making a traffic stop when they
saw a car speed by them, slam into a pole, and bursts into flames around 2:30
a.m. Sunday on West Boston Post Road.
They say the person who died was thrown from the vehicle.
Two other people were trapped in the car, and the
officers, along with additional police and fire support, saved the victims from
the burning car.
The two were taken to Jacobi Medical Center in seriously
injured.
In a statement the Mamaroneck
PBA says, “If it wasn’t for the heroic efforts
of these officers, the occupants most likely would have not survived.”
