One person is recovering after an apartment fire near Third Street and Seventh Avenue in Mount Vernon Tuesday night.

Fire crews believe the fire started from a stove on the first floor.

There was some smoke damage, but officials say it was not major.

The resident was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
