Two separate shootings that occurred in broad daylight, not far from each other, have jolted the south side of Yonkers.

The incidents happened within approximately an hour of each other.

The initial incident took place around 2:00 p.m. on Monday when a man was shot in the leg at his residence on West Delano Avenue.

The victim was transported to the hospital and is expected to recover from his injuries.

Investigators have indicated that they do not believe the shooting was a random attack.

Approximately an hour later, police were dispatched to the intersection of Riverdale Avenue and Morris Street in response to reports of multiple gunshots fired.

As of now, authorities have not located any firearms and no victims have been identified.

However, a person of interest has been taken into custody.
