Rye Brook issues leaf pickup rules for residents

Homeowners are prohibited from placing leaf piles in the street, as it poses a hazard to drivers.

Starting today, residents living in the Village of Rye Brook can start leaf pickup on their property.

The village has provided a set of guidelines for cleanup:

  • Leaves should be placed along the center of the curb.

  • Rows should not extend more than 2 feet into any roadway and must not be wider than 4 feet.

  • Piles should be free of yard debris, including rocks, sticks, and plastic.

  • Homeowners are prohibited from placing leaf piles in the street, as it poses a hazard to drivers.

Violations will be issued for non-compliance.
