A fire tore through the top floor of an apartment building Tuesday afternoon in Yonkers, damaging multiple homes but causing no injuries.

The fire broke out just after 3 p.m. at a four-story apartment building at 1 Adler St. in Yonkers.

Fire officials said the blaze quickly escalated to a second alarm as flames spread into the roof.

Crews used at least two ladder trucks to attack the fire from above at multiple angles.

Officials said the flames were knocked down fairly quickly.

At least nine apartment units were affected by the fire.

No injuries were reported.

The Office of Emergency Management is working to assist residents who were displaced.

Fire officials said the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
