Authorities say Route 9W is closed in both directions at Old Mountain Road South, and drivers are being urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
Initial reports indicate the fire may have started in a garage or nearby structure before spreading. The home is located in a heavily wooded area, raising concerns due to dry conditions.
Emergency crews remain on scene working to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading further.
No word yet on injuries or the extent of the damage.
