An off‑duty NYPD executive was involved in a shooting incident Sunday night in Haverstraw, Rockland County, according to police.
Haverstraw police say the incident unfolded during a fight between two men on the property of the ShopRite in Garnerville. One of the individuals involved is a member of the NYPD.
The Haverstraw Police Department is leading the investigation, while the NYPD’s Force Investigation Division and Internal Affairs Bureau are also reviewing the matter.
During the altercation, one round was fired, which investigators have determined was an accidental discharge.
No one was struck and no injuries were reported.
Names are not being released as of Monday night due to the ongoing investigation.
