Mother Nature may be turning up the heat for America's 250th birthday, but Captain's Cove Seaport says the elevated temperatures won't ruin the party.

"Would you rather be hot at home or hot at The Cove?" says bar supervisor Jose Abreu. "I think you'll be better off here."

The Bridgeport restaurant, which offers outdoor dining by the water and indoor dining, says it's expecting large crowds - despite the heat.

"We've got a lot of amazing deals and prizes and giveaways," says Abreu. "Just a great weekend to be here."

While some customers believe the extreme heat may deter people from dining outside this weekend, other customers don't think it will have an effect.

"I think it will have an effect on a place like this because of the heat," says Marsha Swanson, of Bridgeport.

"It's cooler at the Cove," says Gabriella Bartasek, of Stamford. "It's going to make people want to celebrate more because we had such a cold winter."

Muneca Criado, of Meriden, is hoping people will stay safe this weekend.

"Don't drink and drive," says Criado. "Definitely stay hydrated."
