Bridgeport’s newly appointed emergency chief says the city is ready for whatever Mother Nature brings as severe weather and the threat of rapid, torrential downpours track toward the region.
Frank Rivera Jr., who was recently named the city's director of Emergency Management and Homeland Security, faced his first major test at the helm of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) just a week after historic flooding devastated parts of the city.
"I'm extremely ecstatic for the opportunity that the mayor and City Council have given me," Rivera said. "I've been put in a position where the citizens of Bridgeport can feel comfortable that I'm at the helm and I will take care of them no matter what."
