3 arrested in Montgomery smoke shop robbery after public tips
Following an investigation and tips from the public, Town of Montgomery police say they arrested Shakar Johnson, 19, of Walden; Brandan Wilson, 20, of Maybrook; and Joshua Burks, 18, also of Maybrook.

Three suspects have been arrested in the armed robbery at Premium Smoke and Vape in Montgomery, according to police.
Authorities say the incident happened around 6:23 p.m. on July 17, when Orange County 911 dispatched officers to the Hawkins Drive store for a panic alarm. When officers arrived, the store owner told them he had been robbed by two men—one of whom pressed a handgun into his ribcage while demanding money. Police said the suspects got away with crash and merchandise. They allegedly fled on foot and were met nearby by an accomplice in a getaway car.
Following an investigation and tips from the public, Town of Montgomery police say they arrested Shakar Johnson, 19, of Walden; Brandan Wilson, 20, of Maybrook; and Joshua Burks, 18, also of Maybrook.
All three are facing multiple charges, including robbery, conspiracy, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal facilitation.
The arrests follow a public plea for help identifying the suspects last week after police released surveillance images from the scene.
