Police are searching for four people they say are responsible for firing multiple rounds at a group of people in Mott Haven, striking a woman.

Gunshots rang out in front of 383 E 143rd St. just after 4:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Authorities say one of the male suspects retrieved a gun from a woman’s purse before the other men also drew guns and fired a number of rounds toward the group.

The 38-year-old was struck and seriously hurt. Police say EMS took her to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln, where she is expected to recover.

The armed group ran from the scene, traveling eastbound on 143rd Street and into the Diego Beekman Houses. They were all last seen dressed in black clothing, according to authorities.
