News 12’s Samantha Crawford is in the Alert Center gauging public reaction to hundreds from the Hudson Valley being out of a job at day's end for not complying with New York City's vaccine requirement.
The mandate, put in place by former Mayor Bill de Blasio, requires city employees to show proof of at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine by today.
While nearly all of New York city's workforce is complying, as many as 3,000 people could be let go this evening, including police officers and firefighters.
News 12 is told termination notices are in the mail right now as union reps try to block the move.
