39-year-old Mount Vernon woman shot, killed overnight in Wakefield

Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a person who slashed a man’s face Monday in Morris Heights.

Investigators say the 37-year-old victim was on University Avenue when someone approached, displayed a cutting instrument and then slashed him.

EMS responded to the scene and took the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital for treatment.

Police say the attacker fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.
