About 180 first graders from West Haverstraw Elementary, teachers and officers met at Bowline Park for the first-ever Badges and Books event.

About 180 first graders from West Haverstraw Elementary, teachers and officers met at Bowline Park for the first-ever Badges and Books event.
Members of law enforcement read books to kids, told stories about their jobs and hung out on the playground.
They hope to make this an annual event.
