The New York State Board of Parole has now reversed its decision to release a Poughkeepsie man who killed his parents and 8-year-old brother more than two decades ago.
Brian Britton, 50, will now remain behind bars until his next scheduled parole hearing in July.
MORE:
Britton violently killed his family inside their Dutchess County home in 1989 with a shotgun.
He’s served 34 years of his 25 years to life sentence.
The board had granted him release during a special hearing in March but reversed its decision during a hearing on May 31, after new evidence about his ineligibility for parole surfaced, and safety concerns from his surviving sister and the district attorney.
