There has been a major political announcement out of New Rochelle as Mayor Noam Bramson says he will not seek reelection next year.
Bramson has served 18 years as mayor and was a member of the City Council for 10 years prior to that.
In a letter to the community, Bramson expressed gratitude to his colleagues, supporters and the people of New Rochelle.
He noted during his time in office, the city has seen unprecedented economic development throughout its downtown and record investments in infrastructure and parks.
Last June, the city's Board of Ethics criticized Bramson for efforts he allegedly made to become the city's next development commissioner.
The report was referred to the district attorney's office. Bramson said he was confident his actions met the test of ethical conduct in every regard.
