The Brewster College student accused of stabbing a New York City cab driver in an apparent anti-Muslim attack is free on bail.

Michael Enright, 21, was freed on $500,000 bail after his parents put their house up for sale.

Enright is facing charges of attempted murder as a hate crime. He allegedly stabbed and slashed a Muslim cabbie in Manhattan on Aug. 24 after allegedly asking about the driver's religion.

Enright's attorney says the college student was under the influence of alcohol and may be experiencing post-traumatic stress after spending time filming U.S. troops in Afghanistan.

A judge has allowed Enright to leave his home, but he can only travel within New York State, and must adhere to an 8 p.m. curfew. Additionally, he is required to wear an electronic ankle monitor and remain under the care of a mental health professional until his next court date, Dec. 8.
