A Brooklyn doctor at Woodhull Medical Center is inspiring all with her path to fulfilling her lifelong dream.
Arrabia Mollette’s dream to become a doctor began when she was 5 years old. Since then her life has included unimaginable twists and turns.
"To be honest with you the dream almost died because of everything I was going through."
Mollette went through the loss of her son, who was murdered by his father, and the death of her 19-year-old sister in a shooting. Mollette says she later turned to alcohol and battled depression as a result of the two tragedies.
Mollette would eventually recognize that she had a problem and sought help. She says that she is not ashamed and her struggles help her connect with some of her patients.
"I'm not here to judge you. I'm here to help you out. And I want you to understand as well that just because you're in that situation, it doesn't mean that you can't get out of it. Doesn't mean that you're not going to be somebody of greatness,” Mollette says.
