Fast-moving flames destroyed a historic farmhouse in Orange County Monday and claimed the life of a family pet.
Officials say the farmhouse on Ridge Road in Westtown was built in the 1840?s. About 70 firefighters arrived to find the farmhouse engulfed in flames. The homeowners were at work when the fire broke out, but their cat was trapped inside.
Preliminary results from fire investigators suggest that the cause of the blaze was electrical.
