The hold-in-place order at Chester Academy in Orange County has been lifted as law enforcement has deemed the buildings safe.
Earlier today, the precautionary measure was enacted due to a reported social media threat.
All students returned to class, and school operations resumed normally. An increased police presence will remain at Chester Elementary School as a precaution.
The investigation was sparked by a parent's report of a child alerting them to a social media threat while on the bus. Authorities interviewed several students.
