A Clarkstown family charged with keeping a young Indian woman as a sex slave denied the accusations in court today.
According to District Attorney Tom Zugibe, the victim, now 22, was brought to the U.S. in Jan. 2008 for an arranged marriage to Vishal Jagota. He says the Jagota family abused the woman for three years.
The family says the young woman was treated well and was happy until she got her green card and made the allegations. Zugibe says he intends on taking the case to trial if necessary.
The family of four is facing several charges, including labor trafficking, forcible touching and assault. They're due back in court March 29.
