Breeze lingers, but sun returns Wednesday on Long Island

For tonight, expect a chance of an evening shower with lows in the mid-50s.

COASTAL FLOODING: While the threat for additional coastal flooding is mostly over, there can still be some lingering water in the streets where coastal flooding has already happened.
NEXT: Heading into Wednesday, Long Island will finally see the return of some sunshine! Expect a mainly cloudy start to the day, but more sun will break out into Wednesday afternoon. It will still be a little breezy, but overall, a nice day.
The breeze around 10 to 20 mph will be with us through Friday. Thursday and Friday will also feel cooler and you might want a sweatshirt or jacket. Those days will be sunny though.
FORECAST:
OVERNIGHT: Mostly cloudy with a passing shower or drizzle from time to time. Breezy and cool. Lows around the mid-50s.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly cloudy with a few hints of sun in the morning. More sunshine develops into the afternoon. Breezy and nice for this time of year in the afternoon with highs around 66 degrees. Lows around 42 degrees.
THURSDAY: Mostly sunny, breezy and cooler with highs only around 59 degrees. Lows near 43 degrees.
FRIDAY: Mostly sunny and breezy again with high temperatures around 62 degrees.
SATURDAY: A mix of sun and clouds. Highs around 67 degrees. Lows near 55 degrees.
SUNDAY: Increasing clouds. A few showers may arrive at night. Highs around 72 degrees. Lows near 54 degrees.
