For almost two months, Bronx residents have been dealing with the sight and sounds of construction along the Grand Concourse. The city?s Department of Transportation (DOT) is upgrading a stretch of the road from East 161st to 166th. Crews are out digging up the ground to make way for new roadways, sidewalks, and lighting. Bus stops have been either relocated or eliminated. There are also plans to add more trees, garbage cans and benches. For some residents, lack of parking is an issue. The DOT says it will work with residents to alleviate traffic and parking concerns, updating the community through traffic advisories.
