Police say they are investigating whether a Port Jervis man who was fatally electrocuted early this morning was attempting to steal copper wiring from a local business.
According to authorities, 27-year-old Andrew Fisher was killed at Mountain Machinery at around 2 a.m. Owner Richard Campbell says it appears that wires were cut on the property behind his shop.
Officials say Fisher was found lying next to a heavy set of wire cutters and was declared dead at the scene. They say two people were waiting in a car for him and called police after hearing a loud bang and seeing a flash.
Cops say no arrests have been made.
