A New York City couple was rescued Tuesday afternoon after the rowboat they were riding in on Hessian Lake overturned.
A spokesman for the New York Parks Department says the two of them stood up in their rowboat at Bear Mountain State Park to take pictures before the boat flipped over.
Lifeguards and park police rushed to the lake to rescue the two people, who were both wearing life jackets. The couple was not hurt and refused medical treatment at the scene.
