South Nyack residents are on alert after they say a coyote was spotted in the neighborhood over the weekend.
Police say the coyote was first spotted on Glenn Byron Avenue just off Piermont Avenue. It was later seen walking along Ross Avenue near the New York Thruway. Police believe it was the same coyote in both sightings.
Witnesses told police the animal appeared to be oblivious to people and walked right past them in its search for food.
