Seventeen people were hospitalized after a crash on I-87 south in New Windsor on Saturday.

State police said the crash involved a van and a car. The van was carrying 15 passengers, including 12 children.

All were taken to local hospitals and are expected to recover.

The van's driver was ticketed because five children were not properly restrained.
