Hudson Valley homeowners still feeling the impact of Hurricane Irene nearly one week later are now eligible to apply for federal disaster aid.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-N.Y.) announced today that assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is available for homeowners, renters and small businesses in Orange and Rockland counties.
In Washingtonville, many residents say it's about time they were put on FEMA's radar after spending the past few days tirelessly cleaning up and drying out.
Assemblywoman Annie Rabbit (R-N.Y.) and Rep. Nan Hayworth (R-N.Y.), who met with residents in Tuxedo today, are advising all storm victims to document everything they can.
