The Edward Hopper House Museum and Study Center in Nyack is a National Historic Landmark where the legacy of renowned artist Edward Hopper was born and continues to thrive.

Edward Hopper lived in the home until he was 26 years old.

Executive Director Kathleen Bennewitz says visitors will learn to understand the role that both the house and Nyack played in his life, from the minute he could hold a pencil, to when he went to Paris to study on the banks of the Seine.

Visitors will see Hopper's original early sketches, collections and other artifacts from his life in Nyack.

Rotating exhibitions show Hopper's inspiration in today's artists, and programs further immerse visitors into his legacy.

Bennewitz says Hopper is likely one of the most famous and most iconic American realist painters who focused on isolation and solitary moments of people's emotional experience.
