Officials with SPCA Westchester’s Humane Law Enforcement Unit are looking for the person who abandoned an injured dog.
It happened Nov. 21, 2025, at 44 Saw Mill River Road in Yonkers near Oakland Cemetery.
Nearby cameras caught footage of the person moments before the dog was left there.
The dog was found with a large laceration to his neck and throat.
He was rushed into emergency surgery.
“Without proper veterinary care, this sweet dog would have likely succumbed to his injuries,” says Shannon Laukhuf, SPCA Westchester’s chief executive officer.
The dog has since been named Frankie. He is a 1-year-old mix, who has recovered a lot over the last nearly two months.
A $1,000 reward is being offered by NYS Humane Association for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
SPCA Westchester’s HLE Unit is urging anyone with information to call the Confidential Animal Cruelty Hotline at 914-941-7797.
