Dutchess County issues state of emergency ahead of possible migrant arrival this weekend

Dutchess County Executive William O'Neill says negotiations are underway between the Red Roof Inn in the Town of Poughkeepsie and New York City to house asylum seekers there.

Dutchess County Executive William O'Neill has issued a state of emergency ahead of a possible migrant arrival this weekend.
O'Neill says negotiations are underway between the Red Roof Inn in the Town of Poughkeepsie and New York City to house asylum seekers there.
Those migrants would be bused to the area on Sunday.
O'Neill says the county is researching all available legal options to protect the county and its residents.
