A house fire in Tarrytown has claimed the life of a 77-year-old woman.
Police received a call just after midnight regarding a strong odor of smoke inside 225 Martling Ave., followed by another call reporting a smoke condition at 223 Martling Ave.
Responding officers found a working fire at 227 Martling Ave., where they discovered the unresponsive woman in the entryway.
Despite efforts to save her, the woman died from her injuries.
