Law enforcement officers from eight different agencies swarmed Haverstraw Thursday and nabbed 29 people during a 10-hour drug sweep.
Among those arrested were an elderly couple that own a grocery store. Police say the Main Street store was under investigation for months. The Rockland Narcotics Task Force was able to wiretap cell phones belonging to 14 alleged drug dealers for the past 10 months.
Police say they have taken thousands of dollars worth of illegal drugs and several drug dealers off the streets of Haverstraw. According to investigators, the drug sweep is just one of many planned for Rockland.
