An elderly Rockland County woman has been found dead, pinned under her own car in her driveway.

A neighbor found Clare Turchin, 79, underneath the driver's side wheel of her Ford Edge today on Crabapple Lane in Nanuet.

"When she got out, she didn't have the car in park, it was in drive, the engine was off," says Sgt. Harry Baumann, of the Clarkstown Police Department. "It probably rolled back, caught her off balance and she fell and couldn't stop the car from rolling."

Neighbors say Turchin lived alone, but still worked on Wall Street despite her age.

Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
