New Jersey-based Howard Johnson has closed its doors to its last
restaurant in Lake George, New York.
The property is now for lease.
Nicknamed Ho-Jo, the restaurant
was once America’s largest
restaurant chain with
about 1,000 locations. It was a roadside staple in the 1960s and 70s.
The location had been a popular summer vacation spot for most of the
past 70 years.
The Howard Johnson hotel chain is owned by Wyndham and has around 300
locations.
