Entire New Castle committee resigns after refusing to denounce antisemitism
A Westchester town will have to rebuild its entire Committee on Race, Equity, and Inclusion after every member stepped down.
Town Supervisor Lisa Katz wrote on social media it's because they refused to publicly denounce antisemitism.
Katz wrote, "...we cannot and will not stand by individuals who refuse to condemn antisemitism or any other form of discrimination."
She added prejudice and hate have no place in New Castle.
She said the town will rebuild its committee by appointing members who share a dedication to fighting and denouncing hatred.
