Ex-Brewster village officer sentenced for protecting prostitution businesses

A former Brewster village police officer was sentenced to prison for protecting two prostitution businesses from law enforcement in exchange for sexual favors.
Wayne Peiffer pleaded guilty in federal court. He was sentenced to three years in prison. He also must serve more than 200 hours of community services and pay $50,000.
The U.S. attorney’s office says four of his co-defendants were convicted of sex trafficking and are awaiting sentencing. A sixth defendant pleaded guilty to conspiracy and was sentenced to 14 months in prison.
