A fire alarm caused Orange County elementary school students to evacuate and stand in the heavy rain on Thursday.
The Enlarged City School District of Middletown said on Facebook that a leak on the second floor of Presidential Park Elementary triggered a sensor around 10:15 a.m.
This forced all staff and students to wait outside for about 30 minutes in the rain before they were allowed back into the building.
If you have questions about the incident, you can contact the school based on your child’s grade.
For students in grades K-2, call 845 326-1850. For students in grades 3-5, call 845-326-1875.
